pHONE..............>? i got a virgin mobile phone and i put pay per min. well my mom pays $20 a month for the top-up cards... i thought that i could go with the messaging pack for $20 month for unlimited mesaging.... do you have to sign a contract or do you get a monthy bill or what
How do you trade in your mobile phone to get a new different phone? I have a Nextel i870 which cost $300.00 but now I want another Nextel phone which also cost $300.00. My current Nextel is sctratched up a little and has moments when it doesn't act right but for the most part it's still a good phone. I want to trade in my current phone to get the new phone but I'm not sure on how you trade it in or if it's possible to do that. I heard from somewhere that you can trade your old fone in to get a new different phone and just pay the rest. Like if you had a phone that cost $250 and you now want a phone that cost $300, all you have to do is pay the $50 difference. Is that true?Does any one know if you can/can't and if you can, what do you have to do?
What cell phone can you actually hear someone on? I currently have a Nokia 6102 (Cingular). I like the features of the phone: color display, IR so I can upload my own pics and ringtones, good battery, ok camera, very customizable. The problem is, I cannot HEAR anyone when they talk! I have the phone turned up to max volume and if I don't have it positioned just right on my ear, I can't hear half of what someone says. I'm really not interested in an earpiece, I don't care about bluetooth (one more thing for me to lose), I would just like a phone that I can talk on. Does anyone have a suggestion as to the best phone you can actually hear on that has some of, or all of the above features? I don't need or want anything extravagant, just something that works.
How many phone calls does the average congressman get? Supposedly, going up to politicians in person and calling them on the phone are the most effective ways to get them to advocate for your causes. But how many phone calls do they get? Does my phone call really make a difference in the sea of phone calls. Most importantly, how big is that sea? Please provide a source for your answer.
How do I transfer the phone book from my old cell phone to the new one? I had a tracfone that fell and broke. I can not turn it back on and retreive my phone numbers to move them to the new phone. I tried moving the sim card over to the new phone, but the new one doesn't register the old sim card. Is there any way to retreive the numbers from the old phone that doesn't power up by putting the old sim card in the new phone and unlocking somehow? Thanks!
What kind of cell phone offers the ability to just buy phone cards each month? I need the cheapest cell phone possible. Both my home phone and cell phone aren't working and I need something that doesn't include a plan or long sign up process. I've heard that there's cheap cell phones you can buy, or even use your own, then just buy minutes as you use them each month. Where can I find something like this and what is it exactly?
What cell phone company is the cheapest and has good cell phones? I want a cell phone that I can text and take pictures on. What company in the United States is the cheapest like on the cell phone bill that you pay monthly? Also, I want to know if they have good cell phone plans too. Thank you to all who answer my question. Anybody who is familar with Denver, Colorado. What cell phone company is best here?
How does phone insurance work with Cingular? Do you have to bring in your phone to a Cingular store so they make sure you haven't already broken it before trying to get a new one? I'm guessing you do but I wanna make sure. Also, if I "break" my phone, do I need to bring in my phone to the Cingular store if I report it broken to get a new one? It's $50 to get a new one right? Oh and almost forgot, can you instead kinda like put credit towards getting a newer, better phone? I doubt you can but I don't know what Cingular's rules are on that so yeah... Thanks in advance.
What mobile phone should I get for my dad based upon the following details? Needs fairly large keys (big fingers!) Decent sized screen Good battery life Reasonably strong screen and not too delicate a phone in general. Good loud earpiece and loud ringtones. All other things are a luxury. He doesn't want one of these "ultra-rugged" phones though or one of these "old people" phones. Just a standard high street mobile phone. Cheers!
How do I activate a new phone on my current cell contract? I am looking at upgrading the cell phone to a Blackberry. If I purchase the phone somewhere else besides my cell phone carrier store, how do I add the phone to the plan? I would like to stop using my old phone and use the new Blackberry instead and simply use the same phone number. How do I change phones?
What is the best cell phone to buy for texting? I need a new cell phone and I need one that is easier to text on than the Sony Ericsson I have. All I do is talk and text on my phone. I occassionally check email but its a pain on the cell I have and don't have the patience to always work with it. I need a phone that makes it easy for me to do these things. Preferably a phone that flips open to a key pad. Can any cell phone be used with Cingular/ATT or can I only buy phones from them?
What type of cell phone do you suggest for a 13 year old girl? I want to get a cell phone, but I want something I can show off to my friends. I also want a girly phone that isn't too expensive. I want the phone to look nice, so no phones with like floral patterns on it. I am looking for a phone that is twice as good as an LG Keybo or a Lg Shine. Preferably one that has a keypad for text messaging.
How to break a cell phone contract? I have alltel and I am happy with the service but my needs for phones have changed and I would like to upgrade to newer/data phone like a blackberry but I can't because I am under contract. I like alltel and have no problems, but I don't really like their phones. I like the sidekick phone from Tmobile. I have two phones that are under contract with alltel, is there a way to break these contracts without paying the rediculous fees they have?
How can I plug a regular phone into my cell phone? I'm in love with the idea of those Hulger handsets--they look like cool retro phones and plug straight into your cell phone. I have a Blackberry Pearl and it has a mini-USB jack. Is there any sort of mini-USB to phone jack converter that I could use so I can use the phones I have in my house? This would be so nice since it would be more comfortable and would reduce my exposure to cell phone radiation. I guess I'll get a Novophone. Much less expensive than a Hulger.
Why is my phone number needed for the doorbell to ring upstairs? I am moving into a new building, and was recently informed that all tenants must provide their phone numbers to have an active doorbell. I've never heard of this before? But then I've always lived in older buildings. Can someone explain how this works, and why management offices are doing this? What happens if your phone service is disconnected for non-payment and turned back on? Will management have to reprogram everything again? Does this mean the bell doesn't ring at all? Only the phone? Does this mean all visitors must have my phone number? I don't give all my relatives my home number? lol Also, when someone rings the bell, will caller ID let me know whether it's the door or a call? Sometimes all this high tech stuff just takes away from privacy.
What is a good unlocked GSM phone to be used solely overseas? I currently have Alltel and Nextel services. However, unfortunately, Alltel operates on CDMA network and Nextel operates on IDEN network which is almost unheard of overseas. I am planning to work, study, and travel to Europe and South America in the course of the summer. I need an unlocked GSM phone with a prepaid SIM card, but that's all I know. I understand Alltel currently have no world phone, and Nextel has the i930 as it only marketed world phone but I cannot afford to cough up another $400.00 for the phone because I spent enough as is with travel and all. So, please advise me on the proper venue as I'm quite oblivious. I know Cingular and T-Mobile operates on GSM network but I cannot contract myself to another mobile phone company until one contract is up which will be the end of next month (I cannot wait that long). Thank you in advance as I greatly appreciate your advice.
How can I detect my home phone recording to cell phone recording? If someone is recording your home phone to their cell phone, how can i find out? I have vtech. Is there any phone recording device that I can judge so that I will know that there is a recording device. Is there any chip you can put in the phone for recording?

Has anyone tried to use a cell phone on a airplane during a flight? I have flown several times since 9/11. Twice going to and from New York and Oregon and several flights to Arizona to Oregon and back. In each flight I would turn on my cell phone to see if I could get a connection. I always got no service available to apear on my sceen. About a year ago I read on the internet that in order for people to use cell phones on flying aircraft the airplanes would need to have a special antenna installed. This has not begun to happen yet. So my question would be. If you can not get service on your cell phone while flying in an airplane. On 9/11 how did the people on board those doomed aicraft manage to use their cell phone to call out to their loved ones? I'm not counting the people who used the available at great cost aircraft phones just the ones who are said to have used their cell phones. Just one of the holes in the vast 9/11 story.
How much of a discount do cell phone dealers get when buying phones? Just wondering how much of a discount do cell phone dealers get when buying phones... I'm debating on buying a new phone with a two year contract with T-Mobile OR finding a cell phone dealer-friend to buy a phone straight from the discounted price. Is the latter more worthy? Any input is greatly appreciated!
What phone should I use in an emergency if my cell dies? I don't have a landline phone anymore and I only have a cell phone but I realized just now my cell phone died and it cant be charged. Now I dont have a phone number for anyone to contact me or to contact them. So what would I do in a emergency? Whose phone would I use then? How is someone going to contact me if I dont have a phone? Thats why i rather have a backup lanline phone too as a spare incase my cell dies.
What cell phone is best at pulling in a signal? I've noticed that different cell phones access signals better or worse than others. My new verizon samsung phone doesn't pull in the signal as good as my old audiovox phone. Since I'm getting ready to dump verizon I'll be able choose which I want.
What is the best cell phone and service? My phone is dying and my sprint contract is up in November. The plan needs to include two phones that can talk freely amongst each other. I dont need a fancy phone, something affordable and sturdy...I admit I like having the extras but, well, right before christmas is a bad time to need to spend money. Pretty much all services i've heard of seem to be around, Verizon and AT&T bieng the big ones. Also, is there any way to get out of my contract a month of two early without paying too much, should my phone die before November?
How long will it take to distroy a phone with a earth magnet? I have a Samsung Blackjack under warranty and it's a very BAD phone. So if I break the phone (but not with a hammer. lol) I get a better one. A phone that actually make and receives phones calls. For some reason cingalar doesn't thing that's a good reason for me to get a new phone. I live in Hollywood. I know that the phone service is great there.
What is the best tmobile phone for call quality? I have a Samsung T309, it's OK but its a little buggy, and call quality is only fair. Does anyone have a Tmobile phone they are really happy with for call quality? I'm due for an upgrade soon. Picture phone is a plus, but call quality is of primary importance. I have other phones on my plan, which I'm generally pretty happy with, so I'm not wanting to switch carriers, just improve my phone. I'm happy with the plan. Not the phones.
Can I deduct phone bills when I have home business? I am planning to home phone line for my home but I have home based business. Can I still deduct part of my business phone calls? I am a sole proprietor but what if I incorporate as S corporation? Can I still deduct my part of my home phones for business use?
What is the best mobile phone offered by verizon with the most bang for your buck? I'm looking for a new phone to replace my busted up old one. I was wondering if you could offer me advice on which ones to look further into and which ones to stay away from. Also, is it better to buy a phone in-store or on-line? I'm looking at the chocolate phone by LG, i really like that it can hold so much music. However, after the on-line rebate it's $120 some dollars and after I buy the memory for it, i'll be even more in the hole. I also noticed that there are not nearly as many phones on-line as there are in-store - why is this?
How does porting phone numbers in Canada work? My home phone service is with Company A. We had Company B over to our house (we were going to switch to Company B) but they would have had to run lines in plain sight to get phones where we want them - so we said no thanks to Company B. 2 weeks later, our phone is dead, Company A tells us they were requested to port our number to Company C (we never dealt with Company C nor did we ever contact them). Now we are waiting for Company C to port our number back to Company A. How does this happen?
Which cell phone can you record your own ringtones? I'm with Verizon, about to get a new phone. Several of my friends have phones in which you can record a voice memo and use it as a ringtone. My one friend has it so whenever one of us (her friends) cal, it's us telling her who it is and to pick up the phone (my message: "Hey, loser, you know its me, pick up your phone!" haha). I looked, and their phones are discontinued, so which phones can I do that with? Theirs are all Motorola, so can all motorola phones do that? Thanks! Verizon is my carrier, not necessarily the maker of my cell phone. Im just wondering which ones you can take a voice memo and assign it to be a ringtone. I can do voice memos on my current phone, but not assign them to be ringtones. Which cell phones can take voice memos and make them ringtones?
What cell phone companies offer mobile internet for laptop computers? We are currently with Sprint, but they suck so bad, I'm ready to drop them, and just pay the stupid fee for cancelling early. Are there any other cell phone companies you can hook up your laptop to while on the road to access full internet? If so, who are they, and how much do they charge for internet capabilities? (Not from the phone, but from a laptop). Thanks.
How to charge an extra cell phone battery? I'm getting my 1st cell phone in a couple months and I've got my eye on a phone that doesn't have that great of a talk time(RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100). So I was planning on getting an extra/spare battery; but I don't really know how I would charge it separately without having to insert it into my phone and then charge the whole phone. Can anyone explain how I would do this?
What kind of cell phone will work in Iraq due to deployment? I hear that quadband phones should work. I have a quadband phone from AT&T. I am aware that prices will be higher, though. If I get an international roaming plan with that phone should that work out? Or could I atleast use a sim-card from Iraq? Please respond with helpful information.
What is the best phone to get on the telus network? I have a really old piece of a phone and i am looking into getting a new one. Im with telus and about halfway through a 3 yr contract so that narrows it down a bit. I love touch phones and i text ALOT. My price range is around 350$ can. (give or take 50). Give me some good suggestions for a phone. Ps. How would the LG Dare do?
What is the best multiple cordless phone system for a residence? I have a large house that is served by two old cordless phones. A typical problem is that when a call comes in, by the time I get to one of the phones, the call has gone into voice mail. I have phone jacks throughout the house, but some of the areas I would like to station a phone are not near a jack. I don't need a system with voice mail. Please advise.
What cell phone has the easiest to read display outdoors in daylight? I'm an old guy and am supposed to have very good vision, but still I have serious trouble reading any LCD display in daylight. I've yet to find any reviews that rate the daylight readability of cell phone displays. So, if there are such reviews, I'd like to know where to find them. Otherwise, I'd be happy knowing about similiar personal experiences that might help me find the right cell phone. I'm not looking for anything but basic features.
What cellular phone is currently the most powerful on the market? I haven't been able to keep up with all of the latest phones recently. I would prefer the best method of web browsing on the largest screen which does so, and ability to run software, games and etc. Also to act as an internet tether. I would like purchase the best phone I can currently buy on the market for these things.
How does the Go phone unlimited talk and text work? I heard about this phone but what do you do, so do you just buy the phone for say at walmart, do you have to do a contract with Cingular/AT&T and have a monthly bill, because it says 19.99 for a go phone, I have no idea, I just saw it on the tv. Mind helping me out if you have one or know anything??
What is the cheapest/ best cell phone plan to call to Germany? I am currently in Wisconsin and I am looking for a new cell phone plan to call my fiance who is in Germany.
